CrossFit Regional Games Athlete Discovers New Secret Weapon

Hard work and determination are only a few words I would use to describe our Patient of the Month, Dan.

Dan is a strong athlete: he knows his body, understands his weaknesses, and has strong goals that he works towards.

He is also a strong PT patient! Dan has always played an active role in his physical therapy journey, constantly asking "What else?" and "What more can I do?" Even though he is such a high level athlete, Dan was still willing to come to Iron and do the work with just a piece of resistance band

I have no doubt that this CrossFit Regionals Athlete will continue to improve and WOW us with his athletic performance!

~ Dr. Marnie Wortman, DPT

List Three Words to Describe You: Coach/Teacher, Athlete, and Healthy

What Brought You Into Physical Therapy? My friend Dr. Wortman had me come in to fix my nagging injuries that developed from competing and not taking care of my body for so long in CrossFit.

How would you describe physical therapy? PT is a program designed for you to become the healthiest person or athlete possible. It helps you to live your life pain free and move as we were intended too.

What exercise or technique helped you most? The most important thing I've worked on at Iron PT is hip strengthening and stabilizer exercises. All of the bands and stability has help me to recover and become stronger.

If you put off physical therapy, what finally made you come in?  I put off PT because it is hard to find such great doctors that understand what my goals are as a CrossFit athlete. I finally came in because of Dr. Wortman!

What activities are you most excited about getting back to? I am most excited about competing again in my CrossFit events. I am looking forward to making my way back to Wodapalooza and hopefully the CrossFit regionals again.

What did you enjoy most about your PT experience? The experience as a whole was fantastic. They took the time to understand my goals and help me to develop other goals for myself. The experience also taught me how to continue to fix and improve myself. The staff at Iron really wants you to learn and become healthier and happier.
