How to Properly Rake Leaves (and Stay Pain Free)

Raking leaves is no joke so let me help you avoid having to come see us in agony after your cleanup this weekend.

Check out this 30-second video with 3 easy moves to make getting rid of your leaves as painless as possible.

2 more bonus Raking tips

1. DON’T FORGET Good FORM!

There’s proper form for every exercise (yes, raking is an exercise).

  • Always pull the leaves in a motion straight back towards you, keeping your core engaged and making sure not to rotate your spine while pulling.

  • When lifting up those leaves, get close to the pile and bend at your knees (not the waist) so you don’t strain your back.

2. SWITCH IT UP

  • Raking leaves usually takes a LOT longer than we’d like it to 😩 so remember to switch sides and take breaks

Now that you've gotten that out of the way, get onto more fun fall activities like pumpkin picking, football games and trail running (without a tweaked back).

Good luck out there!
