One thing that has helped me with my distance and confidence in open water swimming during triathlon training is having a swim bouy while swimming on the lake. This equipment provides:

  1. Visibility: It allows other people to be able to see you on the lake in case of emergency.

  2. Floatation: If you struggle, this buoy can give you a little bit of comfort knowing that you are dragging something you can hang on to if you get too tired to swim any longer.

Happy triathlon training!
