Physical Therapist Approved Home Workouts
Can you believe it's already April? That means it's been over a year since the world changed -- our gyms temporarily shut down, our weekly running groups turned into solo runs, and much of our physical activity (including PT!) was through a screen.
For many of us, it also meant we started working out at home a lot more and trying a few new things to stay active. Our Physical Therapists are no exception, and they've discovered some favorite equipment to get the most out of their home workouts. If you're looking for some inspiration, check out these 3 ideas to do a lot...with a little.
Here are 3 pieces of workout equipment and some exercises to try, from our DPTs themselves:
1. The Kettlebell - 3 Exercises for a Full-Body Home Workout
Dr. Geno Mayes - Let me introduce you to my current home gym obsession...the kettlebell! This small but mighty piece of equipment not only gives you a full-body workout, but it promotes good mechanics and practical strength too! Here are 3 exercises you can try at home now.

2. The Peloton - 4 Reasons it's Physical Therapist Approved
Not only is the Peloton a favorite for most of our staff (and many of our patients too), but I also give it my stamp of approval! Watch this video to see the 4 reasons why I think it's effective for patients and athletes alike.

3. The Sandbag - A Simple Way to Do Weight Training at Home
Dr. Marnie Wortman - Although I prefer to get to my CrossFit gym (shout out to CrossFit Bison in Midland Park, NJ) everyday, when I need to workout at home, these sandbags have been a savior for my weight training 💪. You can see how easily I can do the "DT workout" with a sandbag in this video. Give it a try for yourself!
