How to fix hip pain when squatting
I often get asked, “how can I fix pain in the front of my hip when I squat?”
Many factors can create hip pain when squatting, especially weak muscles. In this video, Dr. Marnie Wortman - DPT demonstrates 3 exercises including a single leg glute bridge, which strengthens all three glute muscles, your hamstrings and lower back. Incorporating this movement as well as the other two exercises can move you towards eliminating hip pain when you squat.
If you experience hip pain when squatting, it's important to determine the underlying cause with a physical therapist who can personalize your exercises and treatment plan. When addressed accordingly, pain with squats can often be treated with the proper exercises for mobility strengthening like the ones in this video.
