Heal in Less Time than it takes to Binge a Netflix series

The other day, I was working all day at the computer and then hit my class at Orange Theory. As I drove home, I was on cloud 9 because my shoulder felt SO good through it all.

It got me thinking about how little time it really took to heal -- just 8 sessions with Dr. Aherne in PT!

You know what else has 8 episodes, 53 minutes each

If something so life changing can happen in less time than it takes to binge the latest Netflix series, why don't we do it? Since I own a PT clinic that's 2 minutes away, I really have some splainin' to do.

For me, it all started earlier this year when I woke up with excruciating pain in my right shoulder (I'm 47 if that helps explain some of the joys of this season).

Getting dressed and even trying to wash my hair was awful. Even though I live with a PT who's always willing to help, as a working mom I was just  "too busy" and "couldn't deal with it right now."

After waiting too much time just hoping it would go away, I finally did what I should have done in the first place and took care of myself.

Something really clicked on that ride home from the gym when I reflected about how few minutes it really took to get better in physical therapy -- 360 mins (or 6 total hours) if you're counting...which is what got me thinking about how else I might spend 6 hours.

For me that realization was humbling and the truth telling I needed to make a better decision next time.

Even if 6 hours does seem impossible to find, just focus on scheduling that FIRST visit.

Once you start, you'll never look back!!
